    • Burial date conflict, death certificate states burial on 13 Mar 1906 however the cemetery confirms burial date as 22 Mar 1906. Family stories note that Bridget O'Neill McKenna had to travel by train to the funeral in Denver, and it took her almost a week to get there, possibly explaining the delay in burial.

      McKENNA DEAD

      MANAGING EDITOR OF ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS AND (Illegible) PASSSES AWAY

      DENVER, March 16 - Thomas E. Mc-Kenna for many years managing editor of the Rocky Mountain News, died at St. Joseph hospital in this city tonight.
      Mr. McKenna arrived from Redlands Cal., Friday and was taken directly to the hospital. There was no hope for him from the moment of arrival. At the bedside were Mrs. McKenna, John C. Martin and wife and the mother su-perior. Mrs. B. McKenna, mother of the dead man, lives in Montreal, Cana-da. Arrangements for the funeral will be completed when the mother arrives.
      Mr. McKenna was born in Montreal, November 2, 1861, but received his edu-cation in Chicago. He then returned to his native city and there became a leader in amateur athletics. For four years he was secretary and manager of the famous Shamrock Lacrosse team, which held the championship of Cana-da and England.
      Mr. McKenna came to Colorado in 1887 and joined the staff of the Rocky Moun-tain News. Seven years ago he was made managing editor of the News. On February 11, 1906, Mr. McKenna completed 17 years of service with that paper. Three years ago when the Times was consolidated with the News Mr. McKenna was became managing editor of the former publication.
