    • Notes on the Parentage of Josephte Susan Henry:

Genealogy compiled by Lawrence Barkwell, Coordinator of the Métis Heritage and History Research Louis Riel Institute notes that she was the daughter of Alexander Ellery or Henry and Pemikwayas, a Chippewa woman.

We've seen several interpretations of 'Batoche' as the woman's name, and 'Pemikwayas' which could be reference to the Cree translations to 'French Canadian'.
Pakwaies, Pakwaiesewew, and Pakwamistikoosew all somewhat similar in pronounciation from 'A dictionary of the Cree Language' By Edwin Arthur Watkins.
This gives credence to Agathe Letendre dit Batoche because she was known Métis.

Agathe had at least three known relationships, and has other children with William Henry around the birth time of Josephte Susan Henry.

As well, Josephte's brother Alexis Henry married Marie Daunais dit Lyonnais, the daughter of Louise Saulteaux and Francois Lyonnais dit Daunais dit Delauney on 26 Nov 1833 at Saint Boniface, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
