    • Annie Stone was told she was an Orphan. She traveled from England as a British Home Child, part of the 'Our Western Home' Project though the British organization the 'Church of England Waifs and Strays'. She traveled aboard the 'S.S. Tunisian' in 1901 and arrived 21 Mar 1901. She sailed out of Liverpool and arrived in Portland listed as 'Waifs and Strays. Going to Niagara on the Lake Canada'. Her original trunk, still in the possession of her descendants, confirms both her shipping arrival and the printed location of Maria Rye's address.
